It was a lovely evening. The sky was clear at times and the air was warmer than it had been at night in months. It also wasn't raining, though the wind was steady enough that Hermione had cast a few charms around the area to keep it wind-free. She wouldn't have minded the wind normally, but she and Harry were going to sit outside and eat tonight, and the last thing she wanted to worry about was having her food blown all over the place. At least it wasn't raining, though. She had seen in the Prophet that there were showers in Hogsmeade for the next couple of days; the weather was one of the few areas where the Prophet was reasonably accurate.
She looked around the area that she had been working on and smiled. Harry had gone to get their food, so she had used the time to spread out a comfortable blanket and added a few pillows to make it welcoming for a picnic. She had also got glasses and one of the bottles of wine from the cupboard along with pumpkin juice, since she wasn't sure which would suit their meal the best. Harry hadn't told her what he was getting, just smiled cheekily as he told her that he was surprising her, so she hoped one or the other was appropriate. If not, she could always go to the kitchen for something else.
Once she was sure that everything was in place, she sat down and leaned back against one of the pillows. It had been a busy week, one that wasn't over yet. She had work tomorrow at Hogwarts, then she'd have a day off before the work week started again. While the extra money from working at Hogwarts would be nice, she didn't think it would be too bad once the job ended this summer. Her week at Magical Equality had gone well, with a lot of information and meeting people, and she knew that it would likely keep her pretty busy most of the time.
She shifted on the blanket and looked down at her denims, wondering if she should have changed into a skirt or dress or something more date-like. Of course, there didn't seem to be a required 'uniform' for dating. It really just depended on the date, after all. This was dinner on the roof, so comfortable denims and a jumper had seemed the right choice. Now, though, she started to have second thoughts. She shook her head slightly and stopped thinking about it before she stressed herself out or made things awkward before Harry had even returned.
