RP: A Not-Birthday Birthday Dinner

With approximately half of her exams over, Mandy knew she was needing a break. She had decided, instead of trying to celebrate her birthday on the thirteenth, just to invite Lisa to dinner on Saturday so that she could have a nice dinner and break from studying. She anticipated spending most of her birthday studying for her remaining exams, which included Transfiguration, Arithmancy, and Ancient Runes.
She also decided to bake them a cake for dessert. Mandy decided on a chocolate torte with raspberries. The cake layer was cooling on the counter, smelling divine, and the homemade pizzas were in the oven when the clock struck seven.
Lisa would be here any minute and Mandy took a few minutes to clean up the kitchen and herself. She was just about to start on a salad when she heard Lisa come in. Mandy embraced her friend, wide smile gracing her face.
"Lisa, come on in. Just finishing up making dinner," she said motioning to the table. "Can I get you something to drink?"
