It was fortunate that Ron had wanted to go to Alicia's party. If he hadn't, then Hermione wasn't entirely sure if she'd have gone with Harry or not. Normally, it wouldn't have even been something she thought about. Now, though, things were so strange that she didn't know if Harry would have wanted to go with her or not. Ron had planned to go, though, so it wasn't something she'd had to find out. It was funny how relieved that made her, even if the question was still in her mind.
When they arrived at Belladonna, there were already several people around that were there for Alicia's birthday. It looked like Alicia was dancing, but Hermione gave a wave just in case she had noticed them. She smoothed down the skirt of her dress, glad that she'd chosen it instead of jeans since most women she saw were wearing dresses or short skirts. Her dress wasn't short and revealing like most of them, thankfully, but she did at least feel like she wasn't standing out for being too casually dressed. She also didn't smell like Chinese food, which was another positive.
After looking around and judging the crowd, she looked at Harry and Ron before she pointed to a table in a quiet area. "I'm going to sit," she told them, not really sure if they wanted to sit or dance or get a drink. She figured they could join her if they wanted.
"Right." Harry stood there awkwardly for a few moments as Hermione went to go sit. He didn't know whether that meant she wanted him to sit with her, considering -- things had been a bit too weird lately to tell. She was wearing the dress again, the same one she'd worn at New Years; why had she gone and done that? Now he was not only noticing how she looked tonight, but he was also remembering that night, and morning, two weeks ago. He watched her walk to the table and swallowed.
He was thirsty, so maybe he could get the three of them something to drink. He vacillated for a second before he headed to the bar, getting a pint for himself and Ron and some water for Hermione. He brought them back to the table before he took a seat.
Alicia was having fun making her rounds. She'd have to return to Wayne soon though, to get her next drink and possibly a dance. On her way back to the bar to find him, she noticed Harry taking drinks back to a table and smiled in delight. She wasn't sure who all would come, and she had to admit she was a bit surprised to see Harry, Ron and Hermione all sitting at a table.
She swooped down and kissed them all on the cheeks before they could protest. "Thank you all for coming!" she exclaimed, excited. "That is, if you're here because of me. I suppose you could have just decided to go clubbing this weekend. Either way, I'm happy to see you."
Ron went with her to sit down while Harry went to the bar. When he came back, he had drinks with him. She took the water and smiled. "Thanks."
Before they'd even settled in, Alicia approached the table. "Happy birthday, Alicia," she said, wondering if it was appropriate to give her her gift now or if she should wait. "We're here for you, of course."
