Roger had never been to Belladonna before -- hadn't even really made it back to the Limping Thestral since Katie's birthday a while back, so this should be fun. He took off his coat and looked around. A lot less seedy, not that there was anything wrong with seedy. He'd had a great time that night, too.
He wanted to wish Al a happy birthday; she was over talking to Katie and Oliver for the moment though, so he walked to the bar and ordered a beer, listening to the music.
Wayne hadn't been to Belladonna since he'd come to that Weird Sisters concert with El. Was an improvement from the pub where Katie had her birthday dancing, though mostly just cause it was cleaner. The place had a good crowd already there when he arrived, and he recognized a few people who were likely there for Alicia's birthday, too.
He saw Alicia out dancing, so he went to the bar to get a drink. Figured he'd dance after. When he got there, he spotted Roger. "Hello, mate. How're you doing?"
"Hey Wayne," Roger grinned and took a sip of his beer. "I'm pretty good; only just got here, myself. Good to see you made it; I haven't seen you since the New Years' party."
He looked around a bit. "You ever been here before?"
"Couldn't miss this. Alicia'd hex me, no doubt, if I dared," he said with a laugh.
"Yeah, came here to see the Weird Sisters awhile back, actually. Nice place with a good dance floor." He ordered a pint and took a drink. "Seems like some people are already here. I mean, for Alicia, not just to dance and all."
"Did you have a good New Year's Day and all? Didn't spend it hung over, I hope."
He nodded. "Yeah, looks like a nice crowd, and it's early yet so I'm sure it'll get busier. I'll get some dancing in tonight, I'm sure." He grinned.
Laughing, he shook his head. "Nah, I'm getting old I suppose. Or at least, I decided that night that it wasn't worth the headache. But I had a good time at the party and everything. How about you? It didn't look like you'd gone on a bender or anything."
"Ah, but that's not the way to get dances, Hopkins," he said with a laugh. "It's alright, you don't know any better -- stick with me and I'll show you how it's done."
"So what else've you been up to lately? For a while there, it seemed like you were holed up in your flat, mate."
"I'm sure you know how it's done." He snorted and shook his head. "Doubt you've ever had any problem getting dances, mate."
He shrugged. "Working and revising for class. Got NEWTs next month, ya know? Gonna get crazy with the books soon enough. What about you? Work going well?"
"Hello, boys!" Alicia called after leaving Katie and Oliver for a moment, slinging an arm around Wayne and Roger. "So glad you could both make it! Are you having a good time so far?"
She noted that they both had drinks and didn't look like they'd been dancing, and that wouldn't do. "You both will have to give me a birthday dance before the night is out."
Roger hooked his arm around Alicia's waist and squeezed briefly before bending to kiss her cheek. "Hey you. Happy Birthday. We haven't been here long yet, but having a good time so far."
He grinned and nodded. "Naturally, I'll want more than just the one."
"Happy birthday, Alicia." Wayne gave her a hug before he leaned against the bar. "Yeah, having fun, like he said."
He nodded. "Dances are always good. Nice place for a party, by the way. Has clean loos." He winked. "Came here for a concert before, and that's something a bloke just notices."
Alicia kissed Roger's cheek back and then Wayne's as well, feeling happy and generous. "Thank you," she said to their happy birthdays.
"I was aiming for something a bit less sketchier than the Limping Thestral. I'm glad the loos are up to your standards," she teased, grinning. "The Limping Thestral isn't bad, mind, but I appreciate not having to clean my own cocktail glass."
That reminded her that a drink was in order. "Which of you is going to buy me my first round?" she said teasingly.
"Well, there's a time and place for sketchy, I suppose," he agreed, "and I have to say it's refreshing that the bottoms of my shoes won't be sticky when I leave here."
He signaled the barmaid. "I will, of course," he laughed. "Hopkins will pick up the next one. What'll you have?"

He snorted. "Not one for getting pissed to have fun. Enjoyed the party, though. Alicia knows a lot of people. Was pretty brilliant, I think."
