Just...about...done. Susan snapped the oven shut and turned around, looking over everything, then heading out into the other room. It was all very quiet, considering she was waiting for people to turn up, but it made her expectant and excited none the less. She rearranged the nibbles on tha tables, tortillas, sausage rolls, crisps and cheese on sticks, as well as a fruit bowl surrounded by little sticks - something that Cormac's fondue had suggested, which turned out to be really practical for lots of people. Then, of course, there were glasses and drinks all ready to be drunk - Susan had mixed a punch, because it was much more fun than just pouring drinks from a bottle. It was a bit tangy, but she hoped everyone would like it.

There was a cheese souffle in the oven, and tiny jacket potatoes, and ham and sweetcorn to be used as fillings, which would serve as a pretend 'main course' before Susan brought out her tray - her raison d'etre - a white chocolate swan swimming in blue curacao, decorated with milk and dark chocolate. It was hollow, but it was beautiful, so she arranged it carefully in the middle of the table and stepped back, immensely pleased with herself, arranging little shotglasses along the outside of the tray.

Now to wait for people to arrive - hopefully they wouldn't be so late that her fondue got overcooked.
