I believe that it would be best to for Violet to hear the news from you than to read it in the Prophet. I've noted that she pours over every edition as soon as one of her House mates can be convinced to loan her a copy each morning. I would not be at all surprised to find that she is looking for some word of your parents.
Perhaps this evening after classes or tomorrow at the latest would be prudent now that a date has been set? If you would prefer additional support in dealing with your sister, I can stay with you both or arrange for one of the St. Mungo's counselors or Professor Slughorn to be there.

I was planning to attend study group this evening, so I will make a point to find her then. If I may, I ask that you please check on her tomorrow if you see her, or ask Professor Slughorn to talk to her at some point. I fear she will be stoic around me, but quite upset afterwards.

I will be sure to have Professor Slughorn speak with her. She may find it easier to talk to her Head of House than myself, as I suspect she views me as the enemy.
