Percy was back in his element. It appeared he had spent enough time away for his tastes; he didn't quite feel as badly as he thought he might, returning here. The day, so far, had involved lots of catch up, a crash course in who was occupying what position now, seeing what had been rearranged and what was still the same, and getting settled back into his office. He'd need a plant or two, and a desk calendar- he'd get them when he picked up Angelina's flowers tonight, he decided. He could already tell he was going to enjoy working under Andromeda Tonks. Watching the woman work was fascinating and educational; he had never seen leadership skills quite like hers, but they were nonetheless effective.
She had been answering his questions and helping when she could, but she was a busy woman. It was why he was here, now. And now that he had reacquainted himself with all the things he hadn't quite forgotten and completed his paperwork with Human Resources, he only had a few things to complete after lunch before he could start his duties. Earlier in the day, she'd passed him a memo telling him he'd spend lunch in her office, for a bit of a check-in, it seemed. He wondered if he'd have a secretary this time around; he'd make sure to ask during the lunch meeting if he should talk to human resources about it.
Percy closed his office door quietly behind him after retrieving his packed lunch, admiring his name on the door for a moment before crossing the hall to knock on Mrs. Tonk's door, a satisfied smile on his face.
This was what a job- a career- was supposed to be.
