The sound of someone running down the stairs pulled Hermione from her book. She waited a moment, listening as she looked at the page. When the steps came towards the library, she looked up and smiled when she saw Harry. His hair was still wet from his shower, and she wondered what time it was.
"Morning," she said, scratching Crookshanks behind the ears as she watched Harry come closer. She looked down and bit her lip, closing her book and staring at the cover for a moment as she got her thoughts together. After a moment, she looked up. "Did you sleep well?"
"Were you ready for our walk or did you want to eat first?"
"Slept alright, actually," he said, eyes flicking down to watch her catch her bottom lip between her teeth. "You?"
He reached down to scratch Crookshanks' flank, fidgeting slightly. "I could eat," he said, "but I think some air would be good right now. Maybe we can have breakfast afterward?"
"Really well. I was so tired that I can't even remember lying down."
When he reached down to scratch Crookshanks, she wondered why she had never noticed just how long his fingers were before she'd felt them against her hip while dancing at Katie's party. She held his hand a lot, knew it was bigger than hers, but it had never really been something she'd realized.
She blinked and nodded. "Why don't we go for a walk and get something to eat while we're out?" she suggested, meeting his gaze. "I feel brave today, for some reason, so we could walk a different way maybe."
