Lavender had opened a bottle of wine as the girls got ready for the ball. Really, she decided that she needed at least one glass as she got ready, taking a sip as she studied her hair in the mirror. Was she made for wanting to wear it up? If she had it up, she couldn't hide behind her hair. There wasn't really any way of disguising any of her scars.
Dressed just in her underwear and dressing gown, Lavender was about to start on her make-up. But there was still time to change her mind about her hair. Would Seamus like it loose or up? No. Wait. This wasn't about him, it was about her. She was dressing for herself tonight.
Lavender picked up the two shades of eyeshadow she had been considering, propping open her door as she left her room. Passing on her way to see Parvati, she saw that Lisa was in her room and poked her head in. "Hey. How are you getting on?"
