Today was the longest committee meeting because there were a lot of things to get accomplished. Andy knew that she'd likely be back here in the morning to finish up, since she couldn't stay after five. Thankfully, someone else would be breaking everything back down after the ball was over. The security wouldn't be an issue then, so a few trusted Ministry employees could get it done easily enough.
After the group met at the Ministry, they took the Floo to the Morgana, and she kept an eye on reactions for those who hadn't ever been to the grand hotel. It was a beautiful building inside, though the outside looked worse for wear, mostly because it suited the area of Diagon Alley where it was located. Fortunately, the inside was much nicer. She led the group to the ballroom and ushered them inside. Once the door was closed, she faced them.
"Today, we have to organize the decorations and tables for the ball. Tables will be arranged in this area," she said, pointing to the congretation hall behind her. "Decorations will be all over, though primarily focused in here as well. The dance floor will also have some decorations, though it'll mostly be candles and a few odd things here and there."
She removed a handful of shrunken boxes from her pocket and tapped them with her wand, watching as they returned to normal size. "Candles will be charmed all over this area. It should be bright enough for people to eat without having to squint at their food, but not so bright that it's like a mini-fire hazard. The dance floor should have fewer candles since the ambiance of dancing suits it being less bright."
"As you've noticed, we're going for an autumnal them." She showed them an assortment of decorations and flowers in shades of browns, as well as dark green, burgundy, gold, and a few other appropriate colors. "There are no balloons, streamers, or tacky banners. The ball will be tasteful and elegant."
"Now, for assignments. We need three people to work on setting up the tables and chairs. You can use magic, of course, so it should be easy enough. There are a lot of tables, though, so it will likely take awhile. As they get the tables put up, we need two people to put out the centerpieces. They're in these boxes here, and they've already been charmed to stay-fresh. While waiting for tables to be set up, those two volunteers can assist the rest of the team with the candles, which need to be charmed into place in the areas I've already indicated."
"I will be working in all the areas of the ballroom, so feel free to find me if you have any questions. Remember that you represent the Ministry, so act maturely and focus on the task at hand. Thank you. Now, get to work."
