Defense had been long today. Hermione didn't even really know why because the material had been familiar and not difficult at all. Still, she was glad when class was finally over. Once she walked past the gates of Hogwarts, she Apparated to Diagon Alley to meet George for lunch. His invitation had been a surprise last night, so she'd accepted out of curiosity and also because she'd intended to have a talk with him for ages.

When she arrived in Diagon Alley, she took off her school robes and put them into her bag. She'd put on the robes she wore to work after lunch, she decided. She wasn't sure where George intended to have lunch, so she wanted to be prepared in case it was a Muggle area.

She entered WWW and noticed Angelina assisting a customer. After taking a quick glance around, she spotted George and made her way over to him. "Hello, George," she said as she gave him a quick hug. She studied him a moment before she smiled. "You've cut your hair."

"That I did," he said. "Never underestimate the power of Mum's guilt. Plus, I was beginning to resemble a girl."

"You look good," he added, thinking that she seemed much more cheerful than the last few times he'd seen her. "So, what do you fancy?"

"It wasn't yet to girl-length, but it looks nice," she decided. She rolled her eyes when he said that she looked good, knowing she was a mess after four hours of class. "I make rumpled look good?"

"Food. Almost anything would be good today, I think." She didn't really have any preference in mind. It would be nice to catch up with George because she hadn't had an opportunity to since last summer, before everything changed. "Did you want to stay in Diagon Alley or venture into Muggle London? I have almost an hour before I have to be at work."

"Rumpled is good," George said winking and leaving it at that.

He considered for a moment. He'd eaten just about every place in the Alley lately. "I'm always up for an adventure - do you know anyplace good out among the scary Muggles?"

"My brain didn't do much good then," she murmured, tucking her hair behind her ear as she thought back to the attack. She glanced at him and smiled. "Well, you can fight with me then, if only to save the shoplifters. Maybe we can arrange something for next week to start."

She listened to him and focused on the charmwork and potions needed for such items instead of the actual nature of the items. If she did that, maybe she wouldn't blush like she was a naive schoolgirl. While she wasn't experienced about this sort of thing, she had read about it and done research when she was younger, so it wasn't unfamiliar.

"Graphic. Right." Okay, so her approach didn't mean she wouldn't blush. "So, adult daydreams that are basically graphic fantasies and liquors are being planned? Have you considered sweets? I mean, uh, lollies shaped in certain ways and that sort of thing. For the parties or pranks."

"Didn't it?" he asked. That wasn't what he'd heard. "Yeah, send me a note when you've got a free night. I'm easy. Ask anyone."

He'd managed to make her blush and he grinned. "Shaped in certain ways? Can't imagine what you mean."

"If it had, I wouldn't have needed saved in the first place." She took a drink of her water and nodded. "We'll do it next week then."

She rolled her eyes, not surprised that he found her discomfort amusing. Their food arrived, so she waited until he'd taken a bite before she replied. "I would think a lolly shaped like a penis might sell well," she said matter-of-factly. "Breasts would be another top seller, no doubt, since many men seem fascinated by them."

George choked on a peanut. Score one for Granger and and another for looking so serene as she said it. Maybe Fred was right about her after all. "They are indeed. Then again, some people--myself included--are fascinated by both. Which makes me the perfect purveyor of such dreadful things, right? Genital lollies and blow up dolls and obscene hats. Of course, I'll all be in a separate room, sort of like the defense products. With a very effective age line blocking the door."

"Which reminds me, Malfoy came in the other day. Looking at defense products, actually. He isn't up to anything you know of, is he?"
