It had been a productive day. For the first time since the war ended, Hermione had kept herself busy and actually focused on tasks instead of thinking too much or feeling restless. She still intended to go back to Hogwarts in the next couple of days to ask what she could do to help there, and she also needed to find employment of some sort, which was probably something she should concentrate on first. If she had enough normalcy in her life, then maybe it would start to feel like it was really over, and she could finally relax instead of continuing to look over her shoulder in case they were being followed

"Cheers," Ron said as Harry handed him a sheet of parchment, only to be followed up by a loud groan as he glanced down at the neat penmanship in various colors of ink that scrawled across charts bearing names and rooms and tasks.
Hermione had outdone herself. At least with study schedules for exams Ron wasn't being put to manual labor scrubbing toilets. Ron ran h is finger down the column labeled "Boy's Bathroom" and saw only an alternating pattern of his and Harry's names.
"Hermione, you've made a mistake here," he said, pointing. "D'you really think it's wise for no one else to ever check up on our job of cleaning the tub? I mean, I'm all for elf rights, give them wages and holidays and clothes if they want them. But if you take away their work that gives them satisfaction, Hermione... well, that's just an insult, isn't it?"
When Ron pointed at the chart, she looked over and then shook her head. "No mistake. No one should be forced to clean up a bathroom after you two. I shared one for months, so I'm certainly speaking from experience." She made a face as she remembers the tiny bathroom in the tent that she'd never been able to keep properly clean

Harry glanced at Hermione. "I think Kreacher, for one, secretly likes bossing us around, every bit as much as he likes doing the housework. This way, it's a win-win for him." He thought of Kreacher toddling behind them the last time they'd been here, reminding them to hang up their cloaks and such. He'd picked back up with that even before Hermione had drafted any charts.
Anyway, the chore list at least sounded marginally better when it involved them simply helping Kreacher with most things rather than taking care of everything themselves. How anyone found the time to do that on their own was beyond him.
Harry sighed and glanced askance at Hermione, lifting a brow before he looked at Ron. "Well, it's nothing if not normal, I suppose," he admitted. "So that's good."
At her next words, Harry nodded. "Think I'll want look into that as well. I'd go mad walking about the house, and it's something that's needed. I suppose we'll need to get jobs, and such, erm. After things slow down a bit."
