The last week felt like a whirlwind to Luna. She quite liked it, but she also liked to sit and relax with her Daddy. So, she made sure to pack everything early Thursday morning so that they could have a relaxing lunch and a nice talk before she went to Number 12, Grimmauld Place for the evening. They talked about her visits with Mr. Ollivander and Ginny, the few things that Daddy needed to go pick up for her while she was out that evening, and going through a list of things she needed for the next year. It would be horrible if she forgot her extra gurdyroots, after all, especially since they were so sensitive to air travel.
Her dad wanted her to bring a hostess gift, but she protested, figuring she'd been there enough that it was a more casual visit than a hostess gift would require. Also, Hermione probably didn't consider herself a hostess necessarily, even if she was the woman of the house.
He had the Daily Prophet resting on his knee with Luna cuddled next to him, and they were partaking in the crossword puzzles- one of their favorite pastimes together. They would take turns ignoring the hints and seeing if they could find hidden meanings in the spaces and what words they could fit into the boxes. It was great fun, really, Luna thought, pointing out where "nargle" could fit before she glanced up at the clock.
"Oh, Daddy, it's time for me to go. We'll make breakfast tomorrow morning, as usual, right?" she smiled hopefully up at him. He said of course they would, and ushered her over to the fireplace where she stepped through to Grimmauld Place, where Kreacher was waiting in the kitchen for her arrival. The kitchen smelled delicious.
