Katie was humming as she worked in the messy flat kitchen. Her internship orientation had gone well; she was pleased to have gotten the Magical Games and Sports division, but she wasn't so thrilled about being the only intern. It seemed like everyone else had someone to be with. Also, being forced to work in the same building as Draco Malfoy everyday was not something she was looking forward to. On the bright side, she was going to be working next to the Ministry cafeteria and tea room, so people would always be up in her neck of the woods.
Because she was in an excellent mood, due also in part to her date with Terry the night before, she was making cookies. Lots of cookies. Singing "You make me feel like dancing" under her breath, she pulled the finished cookies out of the oven and set them to cool on the baking sheet. When they were cool enough, she took one out and bit into it. They were tasty, not as good as Mrs. Weasley's, but definitely not poisonous. A job well done, Katie thought happily.
After she'd cleaned the kitchen and changed into clothes that weren't covered in flour, she packed up the cookies into tins. She was about to head out and deliver some to Al at Quality Quidditch Supplies when she realized that Percy would probably be in the office, working away. She hadn't seen him all day, so chances are he'd not stopped for lunch. Katie still felt guilty about how callously she'd treated him the last time she'd dropped in, so she took some pumpkin juice from the fridge and a tin of cookies downstairs.
