Completion: Complete
Theodore looked down at the wrapped parcel and then at the owl. It had the right note to it, he thought, not too conciliatory, but conciliatory enough, at least he hoped so. He knew Morag well enough to know she'd understand what was being said between the words, or at least he hoped so. The other day had been a start. He wasn't certain exactly what he wanted but if nothing else, he didn't want to have alienated her. That had never been his intention, and he was becoming accustomed to the strange notion that it bothered him that they were estranged.
He'd already finished his applications for an internship and the NEWTs and had already sent them off. Now he just had to finish the owl.
With a final glance, he signed his name in his usual spikey, thin scrawl then dried the ink, rolled the parchment, and affixed it to the owl's leg.
Mac,
I sent off my applications for internship and NEWT studies. Thought maybe we could work together a bit in preparing for the NEWTS. You know I'm the only one who will tolerate how you sometimes hum under your breath a little as you read. Have no idea if the bastards at the Ministry will accept me, but I might as well give it a go. Thought I'd pop over to Diagon this weekend, maybe pick up a few study materials and some new quills. Care to join me?
I'm glad we spoke the other day. We managed to do fairly well without you killing me the other day,(which would be alas, at least somewhat deserved) perhaps it bears repeating to make sure it wasn't just a fluke?
Bought something I thought you'd like the other day. I noticed last winter you don't have one for your cloak.
Theo
