Bill wasn't so lost in himself that he didn't notice Neville Longbottom saunter confidently into the Leaky. He'd known who he was since the first Battle at Hogwarts, when he'd gotten his scars. He'd admired him for his bravery in battle, and in facing Voldemort like he had, nearly 2 months ago. He didn't, however, like the fact that he'd been so cocky as to spend the night, in Ginny's room no less. It was with that in mind, and the fact that Ginny was so adamant in sticking up for him, that he said loudly, "Oi, Longbottom!"

He pushed the chair across from him out from under the table with his foot, the invitation more like an order. He'd see for himself what it was that Ginny thought was so great.

Neville turned his head when he heard his name, recognizing Bill almost immediately. The way he'd pushed the chair out from under the table made coming over almost a necessity. Bill's face didn't look particularly welcoming, however; and he recalled the way Ginny and Mr. Weasley had skated over talking about him when he'd stayed for dinner at the Burrow the other night.

He'd anticipated an interrogation of sorts from at least one of Ginny's brothers ever since he'd begun openly expressing interest in her. This was apparently going to be the first.

He walked over and sat down. "Hi, Bill."

Bill studied him as he came over. He had some faint scars on his face, from what Ginny said was taking punishment for her during the last year. While he appreciated the fact, it didn't lessen his suspicious view of the young man. In fact, it would make it more likely he'd put a move on Ginny, and no one would gainsay the young hero.

"'Lo. What are you drinking?" Let that be the first test. He broke of a piece of stale chip and popped it in his mouth.
