She really shouldn't. And she knew she shouldn't, which only made it worse. However, here she was, seemingly against her better judgement. She didn't know what had possessed her.

Well, of course she did. It was a Quidditch shop and she was a Quidditch player. Not that she needed anything in the store, by any means. She had her broom, her servicing kit, and just about any other gadget and or article of clothing she could ever need or want as a player. Yet, in spite of that, here she was.

She wandered in, looking at all of the inventory in the nearly empty store- something she was grateful for, because if there was one place in the world that she got recognized and asked for autographs, it would be a Quidditch supply store. She noticed signs up advertising new brooms and forced herself to walk away- her Firebolt Omega was in amazing condition, if she did say so herself, and she did not need a new leisure broom- she had two of those as it was (although in all technicality, one was Kirley's).

Looking away from the brooms, she noticed that there only seemed to be one employee in the store- and she was currently behind the counter playing what seemed to be hacky-sack with a miniature Quaffle. Interested, Meghan wandered over.

Alicia bounced the toy quaffle off her forehead before bouncing it back off her knee. It was only then that she noticed a girl watching her. She caught the ball with her hand and set it on the counter with a sheepish smile. “Welcome to Quality Quidditch Supplies, can I help you?”

As soon as the words left her mouth she realized who she was talking to. She was caught goofing off by a pro quidditch player, a female pro quidditch player. Damn. If her boss found out she was going to be fired, no questions asked.

“You’re Meghan right? I’m Alicia; I was there for the pick up game at Hogwarts the other day.”

"Yeah, Meghan McCormack. Nice to meet you," she said, grinning. "You were on the other team- you and Angelina seemed to work well together." She looked at the quaffle on the counter. "So, what exactly was that?" she asked, gesturing. She leaned forward, bracing herself by resting the heels of her hands on the counter.

"Ang and I have always made a good team, we were chasers together back at school."

Alicia watched as the other girl gestured towards the quaffle and with a smile she picked the toy back up.

"That was my dissent into madness. I swear you are the first customer I've had in a hour. I tried with the toy bludgers but the quaffles seem to have more bounce. I don't suppose you want to try?"

Yeah, that was where she had seen the girl before, back before the pickup game- she and Angelina had been Chasers for Gryffindor the last year or so Meghan was at school.

When Alicia offered a game of hacky-sack, Meghan was slightly dubious at first. She had never really played the game before, but she supposed that it couldn't hurt to try.

"Why not?" she said, grinning. "We'll see if my coordination still exists at all."

“Now you must realize hacky sack is its own special sport. The trick is to just go all out and feel free to hit it back with any body part except for your hands. There is no grabbing in hacky sack. Also I know you are new to this but I'm afraid I can't show you any mercy, I hope you understand.”

Alicia looked around the shop one more time to make sure there weren’t any other customers lurking about. Once she was positive there weren’t she came back from around the counter and hit the ball with the side of her foot flinging it into the air and then hitting it with her elbow sending it towards the other girl.

"Completely understood," Meghan said, nodding and grinning. She frowned, concentrating.

As Alicia sent the ball Meghan's way with her elbow, she managed to catch the side of it with her left shoulder, then hit it back up into the air with her right knee, sending it back to Alicia. Okay, she could get the hang of this. She started feeling a little more confident.

They hit the ball back and forth for several minutes. Meghan was pretty good and the game was far more amusing with somebody else. Meghan sent the ball high in the air and Alicia lunged to reach it. She managed to hit the ball before falling to the floor and quaffle remained in play. Bouncing back up Alicia prepared herself for the next hit.

“You know what the best part about this is? I am getting paid! Granted it’s nothing compared to playing professional qudditch but I’ll take what I can get.” While Alicia was talking she noticed an opening and sent the hacky sack sailing.

Running really wasn't so bad when you could stop and harrass Alicia and admire the brooms, Angelina decided. Of course, spending so much time in a Quidditch shop might be dangerous. At least once she started getting paid.

She made it inside just in time to see Alicia playing Hacky Sack with a customer.

"Hey, Al, I know they say that you gotta do everything for your customers, but isn't this a bit much?"

"You're just jealous of my job. It's ok; I would be too if I worked with ink all day. Now shut up and play."

Alicia kicked the ball over to Ang letting her into the circle. She watched intensely as the ball was bounced from person to person.

"You know Ang, this is the second time you in two days you've visited me at work. If I didn't know any better I would say you were missing me. Now Meghan, watch closely as Angelina here exhibits her indignant face."

Angelina rolled her eyes and kicked the ball over to Meghan. "You're wrong, Al, this is not my indignant face, it's my kicking your arse face. You should recognise it by now. Nice to meet you again, Meghan. A pity you had to run into Al here before I had a chance to warn you."

"Kicking my arse? Really, because you just dropped the ball. Besides, you would have to catch me to kick me and we all know I could outrun you in an instant Miss Puff 'n Wheeze."

Alicia smiled as the ball was put back into play. Playing hacky sack with the two girls brought her back to quidditch practices back at school and goofing off whenever Oliver went on a rant about a new play.

"Ignore her Meghan, she is obviously suffering from severe oxygen loss. Anybody will tell you I'm the approachable one."

Meghan giggled at the banter between the two- who obviously knew each other far too well. "Of course you are," she reassured Alicia. She whacked the sack away from her with the back of her elbow, then spoke again.

"So, just how long have the two of you known each other, anyway?"

"Oh God", Angelina said and kicked the ball to Alicia. "Way too long. Since our... third year? I think? We knew each other from the common room earlier of course, but it was when she got on the team I just couldn't get rid of her. She's resilient, this one."

Alicia batted the ball back at her a little too hard and Angelina almost dropped it.

"You're a Ravenclaw, yeah? Do you know Penny? Percy's old girlfriend?"

Meghan laughed rather loudly at that. "Do I know Penny?" She heaved a loud sigh, and narrowly missed dropping the ball. "Damn. Okay, there." She batted it back to Angelina.

"Now, as for this knowing Penny thing- love, I could tell you things about Ms. Penelope Clearwater that could make your hair curl," she informed them. "Though, I won't. She probably wouldn't be very happy if I did," she said, shaking her head. "Pity, too. Except for the fact that she knows stuff about me that's just as bad, and therefore would be able to retaliate immediately."

"We've been friends since our first year at school. Bonded over a mutual love an adoration for the sport," she said, gesturing around her, "and went from there. My only complaint is that she's a Falmouth fan."

Angelina laughed. "OK, stupid question, I suppose. I'm just getting to know her myself. We had a couple of bottles of wine with her the other day and found out some pretty... interesting stuff. So to speak. My hair is still straight though, so your info must be better."
