George sighed, leaning one hip against the counter and setting the bag down. "I honestly don't know. They're still investigating, and until that's done, I can't do anything with the building..." He shrugged uncomfortably.
"I think about it, then make myself stop. I just...I really can't see myself doing it? And then I can't see myself not." He nodded at mention of the Puffs, though. "I told her to do whatever she needed to with them. I hate that I couldn't deal with it then..."
He looked out the door, something occurring to him. "She lives around here. On Vinewood, yeah? I wonder what time she gets off work. She's storing a bunch of stuff for me. I guess I should get by and get it."
"You have a passion for making people laugh. At least, I always thought so." She shrugged. "I suppose it's not as though it has to be exactly the same as before. Things are always changing."
Lavender nodded. "Yes. In the flats there. I think she might be working a couple of jobs these days."
George nodded thoughtfully, then looked at Lavender. "Guess I do. Pretty much depends on what they say about the building itself, I guess. Mightn't be something safe to save...I dunno. I'm sure I'll do something, though..."
He nodded again. "Yeah, she said she was working at a cafe, and at Weaver. I just can't remember what days, or what hours..." He chuckled. "Hell, I could barely remember what hours I worked. But I can always leave her a note if she's not home. Maybe try again tomorrow. Make another pass through for whatever your special is then..."
Lavender giggled. "I think you never stopped working," she teased. She glanced at the board which was advertising today's biscuit of the day. "Well, I think tomorrow's special is millionaire's shortbread, which should be rather tasty. I'm making it myself."
George laughed. "Me? Work too much? No way. You've got to have me confused with someone else..." He followed her glance, then smiled.
"Never heard of it, but if you're making it? I'll be here." He picked up his bag, then glanced outside again.
"Looks like maybe it's let up a bit...guess I'll head. Thanks again though. For the note, and the chat...helps a lot." He pulled on his slicker and charmed the bag not to squash, then tucked it into his pocket. "See you tomorrow, then..."
"Shortbread, caramel, chocolate - should be yummy." Lavender grinned.
She glanced towards the window, noticing that the weather did seem to be less dreary now, though it wasn't exactly pleasant out there. "Okay. I'm looking forward to it already."

He turned, giving her a half-wave and a smile over his shoulder. "So am I."
