Date: 25 September, 1999
Characters: Verity Jackson
Location: Remains of the flat over WWW
Status: Private
Summary: Verity does the last of what she knows how to do.
Completion: Complete

Verity wiped her sweaty forehead with the back of her hand, then surveyed her progress. A clean sheet lay spread over the grimy floor and she'd covered it with open boxes. Everything that would stand a cleaning spell got one before being guided into the proper box. Dishes and glasses and pots. Silver and bowls. Towels and sheets and clothes went into one box together to be delivered to the laundry George used.

She made her way through every room systematically, searching every drawer and space for something to salvage. To clean. To pack. She wasn't sure what belonged to whom in the bathroom, so she spelled it all clean and packed it into a box together. Lee could sort that out...

Everything in the pantry disappeared with a wave of her wand, although in light of the gross-ness everywhere else in the building, she wasn't sure why she bothered.

She wasn't sure which shoes belonged to which man, either, but they were all about the same size. Bugger... Into another box they flew, freshly cleaned. Books and things filled another pair of boxes.

She'd thrown the window wide at some point, and looked up at a flutter of wings. George and Lee's owl. What was her name? Lady... "Hello there, you," she said gently, stroking the owl's feathers. "Not much here for you, I'm afraid..." She lingered with the bird for a moment, then carried her to the window. "Go find Lee," she said softly, and Lady took off. Verity watched her go, then sighed.

Boxes shrunk neatly into another box, and she was finally left with only two. One with 'everything', and another filled with clothes. She lightened them with a charm, then picked them up, taking one last look around before Apparating home.

Verity set the boxes next to the door and headed for the kitchen, rummaging parchment and a quill.

Lee,

Just to let you know, I was worried about the flat being unsecured. I've packed up everything I could, and I'm going to send all the clothes and linens to the laundry that George uses. It's just outside the Leaky in Muggle London. I can pick it up when it's done, if you need me to, just let me know.

Everything else is stored in a box in my flat. Whenever you want it, just let me know. I'm attaching a little box full of personal things I thought you might need now, though.

If there's anything else I can do, please let me know...
Verity
