Characters: Narcissa Malfoy, Fleur Weasley
Location: their homes
Status: Private
Summary: Narcissa asks Fleur if she knows of anyone looking for a job
Completion: Incomplete
Narcissa had decided to wait for a few days after hearing about the fire at the Weasleys' joke shop before sending
the owl to Fleur. It didn't seem right to make a request when the woman was probably going through a good deal with her family, but Lucius was anxious to hire a clerk for the shop and in this case their personal circle of friends and acquaintances just wouldn't do. So Narcissa picked up her quill and hoped the Weasleys were as resilient as they had always seemed.
Dear Mrs. Weasley,
First, I would like to say that our thoughts are with you and your family these past several days, and I hope it isn't an inappropriate time to ask a question.
Mr. Malfoy and I have recently been informed that the Ministry has approved the opening of our antiques shop. We are, therefore, now hoping to hire a clerk, and were wondering if perhaps you or your agency might know of someone looking for this kind of work. If you have any suggestions we would be most appreciative.
Thank you.
~ Narcissa Malfoy
Narcissa sent the note off before Lucius could read it and grumble about her taking liberties in extending his supposed good wishes to the Weasleys. Fleur may or may not see right through it, but in either case it never hurt to make such friendly gestures.
