Putting the FUN back in Funeral...
For those of you who may not know. I work for a Texas Utility Company as a customer service rep. The pay maybe be half-decent, but the customers, sigh, the customers are so ignorant... I don't necessarily mean rude, but dumb. For instance, if you electric is shut off for non-payment, and you don't want to pay to get services restored. Your electric provider is not responsible for you electruiting yourself trying to reconnect your electric services yourself, and yes you will be charged a tampering fee as well. Also what grown adult doesn't know the last 4 digits of their social security number? Its one thing not wanting to give it out, but flat out not knowing it... How would you even make it past 18?
Now heres where I ramble about humerous senerio's I deal with on a daily basis:
A man working in a funeral home called and paid the amount for after hours reconnection, in the daytime 10am. (for those of you do don't get it after hours is worked..... after hours) So the first family had to have their viewing by candlelight, it was then 3pm, and he had an embalming to do WITH NO POWER. THe body apparently had to be out of the state by 5:30pm.
And...
Daughter calls in regarding Parents account. Not listed as a contact, states the account holder, the Father is dead, and was stabbed to death my the mother. Now mom can't call either, 'cause mom's in jail for killing dad. Also, the reason the electric bill is so high, the house was covered in blood so they cranked the A/C to high to keep the blood from stinking up the neighborhood. Needless to say the call was then escilated to a supervisor.
Now...
A few customer's asked me this week if we have christian's working in our company. And I thought to myself, how would Jesus act if he where a customer service rep. So I said I would pray for them... but unfortunately I cannot grant their arrangements due to a number of termination notices sent out in a 12 month period. And you services may be disconnected for non-payment if necessary.
I am such a bastard...
