All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man to lunacy.
This past weekend has been full of stress and alittle bit of fun I guess. My family came down to visit us. My mom, aunt and grandfather all stayed with us and it was...dont get me wrong I love my family....but they can get a little overwhelming over long periods of time. Lets just say I've woken up and had day long headaches for the past 2 days since they've been here. We went to the SpiedieFest on saturday and Niagara Falls today. The SpiedieFest wasnt that bad compared to today, we just walked around and watched the balloons take off on Saturday. That was actually relaxing enough for me to lay down on a blanket and fall asleep for an hour or so. Today however...waking up at 6AM and getting home at 6:30PM...yea way too long to be spending with my family consecutively. First we got there and we didnt even enter the park for an hour because my mom can't hold her bladder. That alone probably would've been fine but combined with all the walking and carrying the clothes they didnt change into plus the towels...all the questions and worrying that we were going to get arrested because they thought that going on the observation bridge over looking the falls will go into Canada and we will get arrested. I moved away from Maine and my family to have a different life and be me basically...when they visit they know its my life but it feels like I'm back in Maine all over again being dragged somewhere. They have a completely different lifestyle than me...right down to the food they eat, what they do, their way of thinking. I love them...but a weekend alone with them for 12 hours on end is just way too much. They are leaving tomorrow after going out to eat for breakfast. My aunt is going to cry and try to get me to come back to Maine...like she does every single time. Oh well...it would be alot easier when I ship out next year.
Jenn is doing alot of research for the wedding. Getting ideas from different websites and themes and colors. I know I want a zoot suit for my tuxedo, with wing tip shoes of some sort. Go all retro 40's with the wedding perhaps?...I wouldn't mind that. It all depends on what Jenn wants to do...its her day and sshe will get whatever she wants. We want to get married wit ha whole ceremony after I get back from boot camp and A School so we will have some money to work with. It wont be for 2 years until the ceremony actually happens. We are getting a Justice of Peace type deal so it can be official before I get sent away so Jenn will get the allowance every month for me being away. Things are going to be pretty different for us in the next coming year though. All for the better though :)
I got back to work Wednesday and work open to closes every day this week so that will be fun. This chocolate raspberry truffle cheesecake just made me feel like exploding. Wish me luck getting rid of this mess.
