I went to a private Christian school for a little while in 6th and 7th grade. I really liked it, but we really couldn't afford it. I was on scholarship, but I wasn't doing very well. I had problems in middle school and it was far better than the other school I had to go to. The bad thing about my town is there is virtually no private high schools except for one Catholic school. Most of my classmates ended up going to public school after years in private school. I know it must have been a shock to them. I was used to it, though. And still hated regular school.
