So...it's been a while. Lemme quickly look back through my rndom posts and see what I said last time I gave a Me update *skims through the rndom crap and reads stuff*
The last real update, I was still in training for the position of Information Center Specialist at Watermark Credit Union. That has been over with for quite some time since it was only 3 weeks worth of training and I've now been there over six months.
The whole call center thing is going great. The environment is great and I love the people I work with. In the past I had posted a list of all the name's people though I called myself when answering the phone. Since the last one of those updates the newest addition (and favorite amongst my coworkers) is Juggs. I thought I heard the person wrong but they said it several times through out the call.
Other than that, everybody that's not in the branches (IT, HR, Central Lending, Information Center, EDS, Admin, Risk Management, etc etc) is in the process of moving to our new building. It's the historic Roffe Building. Maybe you've heard of it. Maybe not. It's located at 808 Howell St., right by the Greyhound station and the new Olive 8 building that is still under construction. Key feature of the Roffe Building: It actually has the slowest elevator in all of Seattle. It's disgusting.
The move is happening in three different phases. With the first phase that occurred the beginning of February, they realized that they would need a receptionist to handle people coming in for interviews, deliveries from the various parcel delivery companies, people coming in for meetings etc.
Their original game plan was to hire one person for the gig, but they soon realized that wasn't going to work. Their solution: Dissolve the position itself and tack the job description for "Corporate Receptionist" onto the the existing job description of three people in my department. They were looking for people that had out going personalities, always smiling, somebody who was willing to do what ever it took to get the job done. The first person that they thought of was me (even though I was still fresh out of training and still pretty new on the phones).
Some time rolled by as it has a tendency to do. Then I found myself plagued with an allergic reaction that wouldn't go away. I finally went to the allergist and discovered that I'm allergic to cats, two kinds of dust mites, and every plant, tree, grass, and weed that grows in the pacific north west. Apparently, I've always been allergic but never had any problems till I switched laundry detergent that my body didn't like and made me hyper sensitive to everything else. I was prescribed prednisone (a lovely cortico-steroid) that made me feel kinda
like this.
Now I'm on some sort of super Alegra (a giant pink horse pill, it's lovely) and that seems to be mostly doing the trick.
Let's see...what else. Oh yeah, there was my birthday at the end of February. Good times there. Other than that, it's mostly been work and sleep. Not a lot of fun. Leans more toward that area some people call 'responsible'. It's a dirty dirty word and I try not to use it.
March pretty much rolled by with out a hitch. I was able to finally figure out exactly when my big vacation is going to be this year. My sister went and got herself engaged (to quite the hottie. Go sis!). Her wedding is in October in Hawaii so my hard earned vacation time is going to be spent with nine days in Hawaii on 3 islands (Maui, Hawaii, and Kauai). Sounds rough.
That pretty much brings us to now.
