So I've been officially awake for 24 hours straight now.
I had a freelance job this morning at 7:30 in the heart of DC. So I got up at 4:30 to beat out traffic.
Whilst on the Metro, I randomly thought about my LJ and realised that I haven't exactly updated anyone in a while about what's been happening lately.
I graduated last week.
I had my first job interview on Monday. I get hired as a freelance videographer/editor at the Washington Hospital Center doing their presentations, instructional videos, ect.
I currently had two freelance jobs working for The Jackson Media Group. They are working on a project with the NCQA to get physisians a type of consumer ranking to know how well they do and provide people with a real basis of how well their doctor treats them aside from just a Diploma. Interesting stuff actually. I filmed their interviews.
I end my internship with Story House Productions next week. They do about 40% of everything on Court TV as well as some side projects with History Channel, A&E, and Discovery. Mostly just crime shows and documentaries.
I've been helping out with a couple people's short films for my school's film festival. One is a serial killer who tries to recreate his birthday and another is a detective noir involving... lesbians... for lack of a better word... because I'm not exactly sure what the script is about. But I'm mostly doing the special effects and grip stuff for the first one while being the main production assistant for the latter.
It seems as if ever since I graduated, things have become like the tiny snow ball starting at the top of the mountain. Right now, I'm close to the end of it becoming bigger than I can handle. As a result, I've been getting these weird nose bleeds every morning. In fact, I just had one about an hour ago. I'm probably going to get one after I wake today as well. The worst part, is when the blood clot comes out. Actually, it's the best part because of what it looks like and what it feels like when it's done. I stared at that goofy thing for a while as the leftover residue dripped out over the sink.
Whenever this happens, I always think about Holden Caulfield when he looks in the mirror.
I'm trying to think if there's anything else I should tell you. Oh, my portfolio show was mildly depressing. It was mainly because everyone wanted a graphic designer (print media) and/or a web designer. So every potential employer who came to my booth either didn't care or feigned interest. At least I had the support of some friends and family there. I apologize if you wanted to go, but I felt that it was not important enough to warrant inviting people to go see this when everyone's at college right now. Besides, I don't even do the "walk" thing until December. That's when I'd like to see some of you guys there.
Oh, really quickly, I'd like to say something. I love macs (well, that's not it, let me finish). More to the point, I love the OS interface and how everything of theirs is designed. All their programs and everything flow fluidly. It's a system that works different than the norm. Not necessarily better, but different. They are like the Nintendo of the computer world (think about it... eh? eh?). But seriously, I absolutly hate Mac users. They think they're so high and uppity and completly ruin the brand name. Everytime I think of Mac I either think of the kid from Fosters or some rich snooty asshole who thinks they're better than everyone. Yup.
Hmmm... I should probably stop ranting and get some sleep or something to eat because of all the blood that I just lost.
So, hopefully, I'll be posting here more often when things slow down... which will probably be next week. And in that same respect, hopefully, I won't be as bitter or so full of this internal rage that festers in my nose and explodes in a fiery rain of ... puppies and rainbows.
