Answers to answers time!

First to "Did you have a comfort item when you were a baby? What was it?"

mr_chekov -- It was a stuffed toy symbol of Pi

That was sort of eerily prescient of your parents.

geekiwi -- A bear named Bear. (Actually 'Bär', but I didn't realize this for years.)

How did you not realize it? Who named the bear?

original_fine -- I had a stuffed koala from an eccentric aunt. I named it Duckie. No, I don't know either.

SO CUTE.

gold_ambition -- I am not going to answer that publicly, Tina.

Will you answer if I ask you privately?

lt_paula -- a stuffed orange dog that used to belong to my brother

I guess your brother had outgrown it? What's the age difference?

dctr_mccoy -- I was never a baby... but I hear they like stuffed bears

I distinctly remember you being a child, at the very least. I bet you were a baby once.

allmhadadh -- A blanket

Was there something particular about it? My mother had a baby blanket that her grandmother had knitted for her. It wasn't in any condition to be handled by a baby by the time I came along, though.

loyalty_ever -- Yes! She was small and blue and fuzzy and her name was 'Ryl. She was a...wren, I think. You do have wrens on Earth?

We do, but not blue ones. Is that a natural color for the bird you're thinking of, or was 'Ryl a fanciful color?

ltlbtovik -- A pink stuffed dog named Tribble.

Also very cute!

And to the traditional "Is there anything else you want to tell me?"

mr_chekov -- Is the baby out of your stomach yet?

Not yet. But she's due pretty much any day now.

geekiwi -- Congratulations on your impending bundle of joy and poo!

Thank you! I'm hoping the joy will be at least equal in quantity to the poo.

original_fine -- Are you spying on us? Wait, that's a question.

No... Why?

gold_ambition -- Did you acquire a nude maid and not tell me?

Hah! I assumed you'd notice without me having to tell you.

lt_paula -- shoe #1 lost the coin toss

That's why I have to do polls. Too many cute shoes in the universe.

dctr_mccoy -- How's it going over there?

Good, so far. The station is really nice, and my coworkers are pleasant. I miss you the Enterprise, though, anyway. I guess I always will a little.

allmhadadh -- Congratulations!

Thank you!

loyalty_ever -- ...People DO their housework naked? So dangerous. And sticky.

I guess the danger depends on the type of housework. And stickiness is easily remedied.

ltlbtovik -- Good luck. :)

Thanks!
