[Hirat-kur Theater - opening night: open]

Apr 25, 2010 12:39

The novelty of an all-Vulcan production of one of Shakespeare's extravagantly emotional plays was a big draw, and there was quite a crowd on Romeo and Juliet's opening night. People chatted and mingled in the plaza outside the Hirat-kur Theater, the lustrous fabrics of formal-wear bright against the crimson walls that gave the building its name. Employees of the theater worked the crowd, selling novelty program books and refreshments, dodging through small clusters of talking people and weaving around the lines outside the ticket windows.

At last, the theater doors opened. Those ticket-holders who preferred to sit and take in the empty stage for some time before a play streamed in. As there was still nearly half an hour before the performance would begin, however, many stayed in the plaza, enjoying their conversations and the buzz of excitement that heralded an opening night entertainment.

[[OOC: I thought other characters might enjoy the opportunity to attend a play! Please feel free to drop by and start threads as your characters meet up with friends and enjoy the performance, chat at intermission, etc.

ETA: At kirktastic's request, this is tentatively set on "day 13" of the shore leave/trial/being-on-this-planet-thingy.]]
