Summer is going way too fast. I'm in my 4th week of summer already. What have I accomplished so far? Well, I don't dread the thought of going in to school anymore. That's saying a lot. I'm not to the point of being inspired about next year, but that would be asking too much in June.
Thursday and Friday of this week I will be in Columbus for training on "curriculum mapping." It's this fancy way of notating what we currently teach into some program that will somehow make all that information usable as we decide what we SHOULD be teaching. It sounds very involved, but our principal's really excited about it, so we'll give it a shot.
Friday night to Saturday we'll be in Bluffton. Friday night is the annual "Relay for Life" in Bluffton. We've taken part in that every year since Joshua's mom passed away. The first year was really tough, very emotional. It was only two months after her death. It has gotten much easier since then. We spend a lot of time walking around the track, and then we get up early and go back over for their pancake breakfast. Last year we were actually given our own time slot on the Trinity-Jenera team. I'm not sure if we will this year.
I too have been doing more cooking, but I'm sure my recipes are nowhere near as involved or complicated as Jon's. Yesterday we had pizza chicken roll-ups and steamed asparagus. It was really good.
