"Cooler near the lake"

Apr 04, 2015 07:14

So, Wednesday was a beautiful day, at least in theory: sunny, high in the upper 60s, a bit of a breeze. I went to the Zoo -- along with the rest of metropolitan Chicago. It was -- well, a zoo. And chilly. I need to remember that the temperature readings are for points inland. I think the temperature in the Park might have broken 50, but with an icy wind off the lake, it was hard to tell.

Thursday was nearly as warm, but cloudy and rainy. I decided to go to the Park anyway, which was much less crowded. And then, of course, the wind came up, and I got hungry, and my legs were sore -- did a lot of walking earlier in the week, which I haven't done all winter, and I'm paying for it now.

So of course, the sun came out when I got home.

And yesterday started off fairly mild, then the temperatures dropped to the upper 30s with a stiff north wind.

So it was 29 when I got up this morning, but the sun is out and it seems to be warming up.

Welcome to Spring in Chicago.

life is like that sometimes, zoo day, weather
