November 19th is International Survivors of Suicide Day.

Pretty terrible-sounding holiday, huh. This is an updated post that might look familiar to some of you who saw it last year.

I know this is a difficult topic. )

Thank you.

My friend who wrote the original post is very brave for sharing what she went through. I've been fortunate, in that the only person I've known who committed suicide was a cousin. We weren't too close as adults, but I grew up with him and his brothers. It's sad and tragic when this happens, and I felt that any little thing I could do to possibly spread information might help someone.

*hugs* to you and to JM.

*hugs you tight* I think you are very brave and courageous to tell us this. It is difficult and confusing, but something that we do need to know because how else do we heal.

I think the only way to possibly reach people about suicide is to take away the stigma about talking about it. *hugs*

As a consequence of an atypical migraine, I was actively suicidal for about four days a couple of winters ago. My friends pulled me through it ( ... )

Ironic universe is ironic. Had news that a good friend lost his battle with depression and killed himself this morning.

Still in the "why didn't I call him yesterday?" zone.
