-i am 22 years old, not 16.
-i am a professional, educated journalist, not an intern.
-i am a trained and experienced reporter, not a clueless, hair-twirling girly girl.
-i am a liberal with aspirations of feminism, not a ditzy, dumb, almost-blonde who needs a guy to do everything for her.
-i am becoming increasingly nervous that my young-looking, clueless face is reeling me in stories, quotes and sources, and i think, what will i do as a reporter when i turn 30 and transform into a haggard, old woman?
-i am somewhat disturbed to realize that in journalism, it is seen as okay to flaunt femininity and flirt for a story.
-i would like to be respected, and not be called cutie, sweetheart and darling by policemen, county commissioners and judges.
-i have an opinion- it is NOT in my work.
-i am just bad at directions. period.
-i want to be taken seriously!
-i will get better at AP style... i promise
-i CAN take you down with one fell stroke of my pen on my reporters notebook. trust me.
