--my couch, tyler--
ok, yeah... i still officially hold the title for the most pale person in tyler. i spent the majority of the day at the pool with shonda, sandwiched between three bronzing beauties. and there's me- nose buried in HP (cover off, so my dorkiness isn't completely exposed to a potentially hot pool guy) and slathering sunscreen over my body every 80 minutes. because it says to on the bottle. and i decided as i sat there baking in the sun under my protective cover of spf 30 that i'd much rather be pale (ok really pale) than sunburned, blistery and skin cancer ridden. because i am a hypochondriac anyway- there really is no need to provoke it. but, after four odd hours at the pool, with a strategic move to the shade nearing hour four, i returned to my apartment sporting a pleasant pink glow. a noticeable line where my bikini was. and legs, that i swear, are borderline tan. and i was so proud of this "tan" that i actually wore a camisole to walmart just to show it off. i... am... so... proud!
after the pool, i showered, painted my toenails bright pink and covered my newly, modestly tanner legs with shave minimizing lotion because i am fresh out of "work pants" and will need to wear a skirt this week. ugh- dressing girly... not fun.
then me and shonda hit up walmart, shopped for two hours and spent nearly $300 combined. she spent the majority though, by far. shopping with shonda felt like the walmart trips i used to make with staci and courtney in the middle of the week when i didn't want to study. sad times.
we got back after nine, and kristi came by because she was hungry, and we cooked chicken, a veggie medley, corn on the cob and shonda made some kick-ass guacamole with garlic in it. guacamole is definitely an east texan fetish, and EVERYONE here makes it fresh. they are obsessed with it! it was awesome though. we ate dinner, drank heineken, watched tv and ate a strawberry pie that shonda concocted. it was so relaxing. a nice slow way to start my week. maybe having mondays off isn't so bad after all.
and tomorrow begins the daily grind, and i'm totally not ready. my house is still trashed, my car is sporting a funky smell, i have a pile of dirty and clean clothes combined taking up half my room and i did not renew my DL. must do all this tomorrow. yeah, we'll see about that. for now, it's off to the mirror for one last admiring look at my attempt at a tan and then hopefully i'll fall into a deep, sun-drenched sleep until my alarm scares the crap out of me in 7 hours. yes.... tan!
