Birth Story

Finally, I am gonna try and write this....

It was April 21st, I woke up because Aiden was crying and I wanted to catch him before he got out of bed.  It was about 12:30 am I climbed into bed with him, which he sleep on the lower bunk bed, so it was alittle hard to do.  I stayed with him till he fell asleep again.  I tried to crawl out over him and it felt like I peed.  Thought nothing of it and went to the bathroom and changed.  I then went back to bed.  About 1 I felt some cramping, but marked it up to BH.  They weren't that painful but uncomfortable that I couldn't sleep, the came every 5 to 6 mins.  At 1:30 I went to the bathroom and there was some blood and the contractions were still comming. So I knew something was going on. I woke up Marty and called his cousin to come stay with the boys.  She was fast she was there in 15 mins.  Nathan woke up as I was trying to get out the door.  But I told him to get in my bed and he was fast asleep.  We got to the hospital alittle after 2am.  On the drive over the contractions got harder still about 5 mins apart.  Got settled in and the pain was getting bad.  I asked for the UD and she put the order in.  In the mean time my blood pressure was really high and they were concerned.  And with every contraction the baby's heart rate would drop really low.  As I am dying of pain and they are waiting for the DR my contractions are 2 mins part and I am dialated to 9.  To late for the UD and I had to start pusing because his head was comming out and the heart rate was still going to low.  After 10 mins of pushing screaming and crying of pain he is here at 3:13 am.  The cord was wrapped around his neck twice, that is why his heart rate would drop with each contraction because it was tighting up on him.  He was perfect and healthy.  The only thing wrong was his belly button, he has a herniated one because of the cord pulling for being around his neck.  They say it should go back in with time.  It already looks much better, but he still will have an outie button.  so it was a VERY fast labor and delivery.  But I will say it sucked with no drugs.  Why anyone would choose to do it that way is beyond me.
