Today was the first day that I have driven since last Friday! Not that I couldn't have gone out sooner, but with holiday shoppers and the icy parking lots, I just haven't been motivated to go out.
My school system has been closed all week, so I also haven't been to work since last Thursday. You would think with all this time at home, my house would be cleaner! But I have wrapped some gifts; I got my Christmas cards out on Monday, I did a complete system restore on my computer in an attempt to get the wireless printer to install correctly (it worked!) and I knit 2 pairs of mittens for the kids, store-bought mittens not being warm enough when wet. I love knitting instant-gratification projects!
I also knit (over the course of a month) some socks for Christopher.
Monday night, Jeremy took the kids out back to play in the snow. Christopher is still too short to walk in the deep snow, so Jeremy had to carry him up the hill each time. He came in after about 10 minutes, but Samantha would have stayed out all night! (She had warmer mittens; Christopher's weren't done yet.)
The kids are very excited about Christmas. Samantha has perfected counted backwards just to tell us how many days are left. Christopher is planning on singing Christmas songs (he really doesn't know any yet) and is very happy that 10 days after Samantha's birthday (when he himself did not get any presents) he will get some presents of his own.
Merry Christmas!!!!
