(no subject)
Backstory for those that only met me rather recently: I have a bad track record with fanfiction. Most of the things I started? Never finished past the first chapter. The ones I did? Oneshots. Some of which I am not entirely happy with, which is why I am reluctant to put them up online, even if some of you have already seen some of them.
I know what my problems are. I start things, and essentially make up stuff as I go along. I don't have a clear idea of what I want to do, or how or when I want to finish it. Granted, some would say it's better to sort of let the story write itself, and don't try to overplan things, lest it turn out too stiff, and unnatural. On the other hand, when I don't even know where the hell am I going with what I'm writing, we have a problem.
This time there is that, and a some more fail attached. I began writing what is supposed to be the first chapter of a gen Persona 4 fanfiction that sort of crosses over with Persona 2 (and I only finished Innocent Sin. However, I could just put an AU warning, and as long as there were no batlant contradictions, I suppose I'd be fine enough).
And then I finished a bit... And my mind fucking exploded with ideas. Suddenly, I want to cross it over with Devil Summoner, Persona 3, and maybe even freaking Nocturne too (and I don't mean things like "That random NPC is totally Kyoji in a new body, and that random girl that doesn't do much for the plot is totally Chiaki", no, I mean an actual honest to God cross over), which has the potential for an disaster of epic proportions, and add in the fact that apparently my mind wants to add freaking time travelling to the fic, and my frustration is rising. And then there's the matter of finding a beta if I somehow get it finished.
And then, instead of taking notes of all my ideas and then trying to find a workable compromise, I decide to whine on my LiveJournal. Ah well, it's not like what I had was any more detailed then what I just wrote anyway, so...
