WIND

Holy fuck! What a brutal walk to and from school. The second I left my house I stepped down into snow nearly up to my knee, then promptly stepped back inside to get the snow out of my shoes and tuck my pants into my socks! Apparently it wasn't actually even really snowing, but the winds kicked up heavy drifts through the prairies. The wind was strong enough to make me slip on the ice, and even with my insulated hood and a bandana to cover most of my face and head, I still had to guard exposed skin from the cold wind and frozen particles of snow and ice. I could hear some birds chirping and wondered how it was for them, as I try to even restrict my breathing when its really cold (I don't want frostbitten lungs, and the moisture of my breath adds up under the bandana to the point of uncomfortable humidity or straight freezing). Every once in a while I let out a little laugh or "FUCK!". Both my gloves and my Olympic mittens came in useful today. It was kind of funny to watch the dumb ill-prepared college kids who were walking around without hats or gloves or jackets. It's almost like the look on their faces said they didn't know why they were cold. Oh yeah! And the sound of the wind in the trees was so beautiful today! Oooooooh!

winter, animals, hows the weather over there
