Benedryl never works for me, it's kinda equivilant to eating sweet tarts. Nothing. I did take some non-drowsy sinus medication that knocked me out. I could have been on fire and would have never known. I would suggest sleeping pills, but you have to be very careful with them. Sometimes they work when they are supposed to, but most of the time they don't. Yes, think about taking pills to sleep at night, but you are up all night and then sleep all day...yeah, that is certainly how they can work. Not to mention they can become very addictive and if you do have luck with them,
chances are, overtime, they'd stop working anyway. Nyquil...nevermind, that stuff is pure useless. Try music, something
without lyrics. If what you are listening to contains lyrics, you are likely to relate the lyrics to whatever is causing you to stay up, even if it is just one line. Try soundescapes, like sounds of dolphins, oceans or thunderstorms. Walmart, FYE and other stores with music have them. I have a nice collection, I'd be willing to let you burn them, but from here, that is just impossible. I you would like to know the names of the ones that I have, I'm willing ot share and if you'd honestly like copies, I can burn them for you and mail them your way. Chamomile or lavender. Chamomile/lavender lotion, tea, soap, body spray. Just use it and lots of it. I spray it on my pillow or Mousie before I go to bed, if not chamomile/lavender, some other soft scent that calms me, but chamomile just does it. Relaxing breathing exercises, light exercise. While I was there Diann suggested eating a small bowl of cereal. It helped for a while, but it didn't keep me sleep all night. Try cereal like cheerios, something without sugar. I will say that I stick with Chamomile and other soft scented body sprays. If you don't want to take the medication route, are you a sight person? Sounds? Touch? Smells or taste? Sights: Get a relaxing poster. Sounds: The soothing music will work. Smells: Soft scented body sprays on your pillow. Touch: mix it up a bit, grab your favorite stuffed animal to cuddle up with and mist it with chamomile (Right now, I've been spraying Gardina on Mousie's face before I try to sleep, I love the smell, very soothing for me, you'll have to find what you like.) If the smell is too strong, spray it first and let it set, then jump in. Taste: try the cereal. As you can see it is nearly 2am, and I can't sleep! I hope something from this list works for you. Best of luck.
