So OMG seems to be the only response I have to the whole killing of bin laden stuff. My mom told me this morning and I was like bzuh? It seem so surreal but hopefully the families of his victims (here and abroad) can have some kind of closure. This was long over due. Who knows what this will all mean in the long run but at least we finally got him. Still, holy crap.
Then I had jury duty. Which is the least amount fun you can have. This was the first time I had to visit the court room/judge. Not a fun day. My nerves were shot so I couldn't eat anything. I feel so out of it. Need to nap.
I was thisclose to having to serve but I would have had no way of getting there, short of a taxi or bus (which I have zero money for) and happily one of the lawyers didn't want to take the chance that I'd be worried about getting home (which I already was) and blissfully I was able to leave. I still think that the system would be better if you signed up for it, like to vote. If you want to serve and would do so happily, then you could. Otherwise, whatever. It's a massive pain in the ass and so nerve wracking. Not to mention boring.
Although our officer was very nice and let us watch Fawlty Towers and Seinfield. (um...random? lol) and I met a nice older lady who convinced me to tell the judge about my travel issues. So, thank you, lady! Wish I had known your name.
Still over all, no thanks. I know how important it is (how much do they drill that into your brain?) but really, no thank you.
