Oh, Clara. This is going to so bite you in the butt. I wonder if it is an addiction? Like, they are all adrenaline junkies and they just need their fix? Because it does seem like it is very hard for any of them to leave. We know how hard it is for him to leave; he will probably never give the traveling up, but for the companions, it must be like putting the cover onto a really shiny box, knowing that there is something wonderful inside and then walking away.
Still. You know that this will cause Danny to probably break up with her. Even if no time has passed for him, she will go on these adventures and want to talk about them. Rose could never shut up, and I expect Clara to slip and get found out.
I think that she had every intention of leaving. She knew this was it and I suspect that Twelve knew too. But then he confessed that he was seemingly heartless and I think she latched onto that. Because it does help her. The lie will always be more appealing than the truth. She can't keep fooling herself though. He is not Eleven and he never will be again. And no matter what she says or does, that will never change.
This is who he is now. Can she really live with it?
I still think she will have that choice: Doctor's Clara or Regular Clara? Becsuse she cannot keep both. She may lose Danny. And is The Doctor worth it? If she settles down with Danny and becomes Miss Oswald, permanently, will a part of her look up and regret? I don't know if there is an acceptable answer for her. But staying with Twelve, while fun and exciting, is probably going to cost her. And there is someone waiting for her, who may never understand her attachment to The Doctor. Especially when he let go of his big adventure. He saw the light and got out, Clara may never see hers. And where does that leave them?
As for Twelve? I am still enjoying his occasional rudeness. He is way more coldly logical and way less emotional than his predecessors. It makes it more interesting to see him not fly off the handle and take everything to hearts. At the same time, dude you are a doctor and people have died. Compassion is not just a human emotion. He chose that name for a reason. He may want to remember why that was. I don't think he wanted Clara to leave, but he does have this cool detachment when it comes to her. Though I do like that he is letting her make up her own mind. He is not tempting her with space and time, like the others did. So I do think that he respects her, he just doesn't verbalize it as much. And she needs to know that. She is still trying to puzzle him out.
I wonder if Gus has something to do with Missy? And why is it so important that Clara and the Doctor, don't loose each other? I feel a big confrontation is coming. Oh boy.
