Year 44 Week 15 Monday
So, I sponsored a Grade 3 stakes for my homebred AW mile geldings, 4yo Powered On and 5yo Holiday Victory, to see who would be named for the Pegasus Cup next year; or, rather, to validate my decision to run Powered On. The race only confused the issue, because Holiday Victory went wire-to-wire, while his stablemate could only get third. Still, I think I'll stick with Powered On for the big race, Week 2 of Year 45, since I don't think Holiday Victory would be able to get out to an easy lead.
I appear to be the player with the most starting berths for the Pegasus Cup, as I'll have three others -- Wilder Mind in the dirt sprint, Messages in the turf mile, and Always Strike Out in the AW route. Even though my two fillies will be against colts, they have the best shot of actually winning, assuming that they recover from their Steward's Cup races okay.
Third in their stakes races tonight were 4yo homebred dirt sprint filly Astronomical Odds, in her career farewell, and 2yo homebred turf mile filly Quilt Circle.
There were a couple of breeder awards.
34: 5-9-7 for 15% wins, 62% OTB, and earnings of 173k.
