My Big Three ran their final preps before the Steward's Cup, and I'm really happy with the results.
2yo Steward-bred turf sprint colt Danny Pink celebrated his new headshot by winning the Grade 1 Bronze Horseshoe in South Africa, while running a career best 89 fig, despite winning easiliy. He's my fourth Grade 1 stakes winner of the season, has surely clinched a SIMMY for 2yo Male in Africa, and is undefeated in six starts. For that matter, he easily leads all juvenile turf sprint males in total points.
3yo Steward-bred dirt sprint filly Wilder Mind caught a relatively soft field in a Grade 2, and lasted to win by a neck, scoring a 90 fig. She is approaching the 800k mark in career earnings.
3yo homebred turf mile filly Message faced the toughest turf miler, of either gender, in the game, and chased her throughout in the Grade 1 Irish Matron Stakes. She is approaching 900k in career earnings.
In other graded stakes activity, 4yo homebred turf sprint filly Nice Article took a Grade 3 for her second stakes victory, both this season. Yearlng purchase Marie de Medici, a turf mile filly, was second in a Grade 2. 3yo homebred turf mile fillySmiling Ship was third in a Grade 2, while 2yo homebred turf mile filly Pacific Day was third in a Grade 3.
49: 12-15-7 for a very nice 25% wins, 69% OTB, and earnings of 572k.
I just inched past last year's record purse earnings of 16.4 million for the year. Oh, and I hit the 7000 mark in lifetime wins.
With breeding starting to get active -- and having already bred some 95% of my mares -- I'm back to being over $19 million in bankroll.
