I've kind of been waiting for something really big to happen before I updated again, but I don't think anything Earth shattering is going to happen in the near future. Anyways, here are some of the not-so-big deals that are going on right now.

I'm doing a lot of blogging over at ukdems.com, the UK College Democrats website. I've been lax in the past week because of finals/presentations, but I'll be back strong soon. Also, our football team is actually going to a bowl. The Music City Bowl, in Nashville. I waited in line for 5 hours to get tickets. Awesome, huh? I doubt we will win though. Our basketball team has been kind of struggling lately, but we don't play anybody we shouldn't beat til Tennessee in February, which would be a 17 game winning streak. We'll see what we are made of. I went to Louisville on Tuesday to see UK play UT-Chattanooga, and sat on the front row. I could hear everything Tubby Smith said. It was crazy.

The KY Kernel, our student newspaper, came out in an story which painted our assisting the Communication Workers of America to form a union of the staff. The gist was that "The UK College Democrats saved a room for the union folks who aren't supported by the administration. Also, the staff senate who is anti-union doesn't like it. Boo College Democrats." Our statement-- we aren't in the business of appeasing the administration or the staff senate or anybody else for that matter. We are in the business of assisting the American worker; that means helping any and all labor unions who need our help.

Badda Bing. $5 says that some weird creeps make comments on this entry saying that unions are the undoing of America. I wonder if any of those weirdos that found me this summer still read this?
