All State Orchestra Camp Day 1
So i got up today at like 8:30 and i had to pack because i was too lazy to to it sooner. i didn't really care about packing light so i ended up bringing a lot of crap i don't really need, but thats ok. we left at 10 and we went to target to get some candy and then to taco bell for lunch. i end up gettin here at like noon, and a little after we have a sectional with a sectional leader. we go over all the parts that she wants to hear for the audition. (we auditioned for chairs.) then we practice and i've only been playing this for like 2 weeks becaue i've been on vacation so i already know that i'm not going to do as well as i could. i end up getting like 10th chair, but it's not the last - there's like three stands behind me so i'm not too upset. the food is good, so i had a good dinner. and after that i have a 2 hour rehersal which sounds long but most of the other ones are longer, so it's going to be boring. oh well. so far i only know like 3 people, one of which has the same violin teacher as i do. this camp is going to be a lot of violin playing. a lot more than i'm used to especially for the summer because i'm lazy. we're going to have sectionals and rehersal with the whole group every day. i think i might have like 5+ hours of violin playing every day. too much. at least i brought my music so i can go back to my normal self for some of the time. oh, curfew is at 11 and lights out is at 11:30 which is a lot earlier than i'm used to. tomorrow we should have an ice cream social so thats what i have to look forward to. also on wednesday night is pizza and movie, thursday is game night, friday is supposed to be karaoke and or No talent show. don't know how that's going to be. and the concert is on satuday. that's the major details. i will post tomorrow if you care.
