But the results were not so wonderful this time around. I made a butternut squash soup, which was risky because I've never even had butternut squash before and I had no idea how it would wind up tasting, but it wound up tasting kind of bland. It was missing something. I think I will tinker with the recipe for a while and write my own. I'm thinking of adding fresh ginger root and cocoa to it. If I keep cooking eventually I can start a vegetarian cafe. Making up recipes is really fun, especially if you're trying to make something taste like it's meat counterpart using very few of the ingredients.
I also really like making soups. I feel so accomplished when I finish making one and it tastes good.
Butternut squash tastes pretty good raw, but it lost a lot of it's flavor when I cooked it. I'll work on it.
