Living in NYC has made more become more aware of certain things about myself and things I would like to change. The most interesting thing I have noticed is how style plays a big role in NYC.
Everyone seems to have their own unique style. Sure they all fit into some subset or another:prep, emo, hipster, goth, hoodrat, ghetto fab tourist, models and model wannabes, dancers, even harajuku among others. My style right now is essentially the lack of one and has always been like that. I have always essentially been like well this matches close enough. Also mostly graphic tees.
I want something different. I described kinda what I wanted to do in an earlier post but have yet to make that happen. Mainly due to lack of funds but also probably lack of confidence that I can create my own style. Something uniquely me. I know what I like: Graphics, plaids and pinstripes, button up vests, hats, suspenders, interesting color combinations. I like the idea of layering however I overheat like whoa and would be sweating like a pig so that limits my style, but also why like vests (gives me ventilation).
Basically I need someone with a sense of fashion and style to help me realize this vision. So Who wants to be a shopping buddy once I get a few duckets?
