First, Happy Birthday to akari_sama and the characters of Niou Masaharu and Yagyuu Muraki Kazutaka. lol

And for Niou's birthday, a ficlet...unbetaed cause I am just fun like that. I don't like writing from Niou's perspective, it's much harder for me than Yuuta or Hiroshi.

Title: A Little Something Sweet
Author: Me (cause no one else would write it)
Pairings: Yagyuu x Yuuta (implied) and hints of Niou/Whole Fuji Family, one sided Fujicest
Warnings/Ratings: Don't read if you don't like male/male or M-preg lol
Disclaimers: PoT characters are not mine, this is RWT timeline based and unbetaed.

Niou Masaharu smirked to himself as he rung the bell repeatedly to the apartment shuffling slightly in an attempt to keep out the late November winds. It had been nearly two months since he had told dear 'Hiroshi' he was going to take Yuuta out for Starbucks and by this point the boy undoubtedly deserved a treat. He was just about to start rapping soundly on the door when it opened with a jerk, Yuuta's hair standing up at odd angles from a recent nap and a yawn keeping his frown at bay.

"Today is your lucky day, Yuuta-kun!" Masaharu trilled as he placed a brotherly arm around the boy's shoulders. "I'm getting you Starbucks, my treat of course."

Yuuta's frown deepened and a hint of wariness entered his eyes. "I don't think that's such a good idea, Masaharu-san.." His arms slipped over his rotund belly protectively as a blush colored his cheeks.

"A little coffee and sugar aren't going to hurt 'Icchan'," scoffed Masaharu before lifting a small brown bag and letting it swing for several seconds from his finger tip grin widening predatorily. "You deserve a little pick me up."

Biting on his lower lip, Yuuta hesitated for a moment and Masaharu knew in that instant he'd won. Rather than waiting for a further response he steered Yuuta back into the apartment and shut the door behind them. Handing Yuuta the bag he sloppily removed his shoes and shrugged off his jacket throwing it over the neatly lined shoe rack in the genkan waiting as patiently as he could for Yuuta to remove his Crocs, line them up precisely and switch to the equally anally lined up slippers.

"So this is the place you two picked out?"

Nodding mutely Yuuta lead Masaharu past the small but immaculate kitchen and dinning area to the living room.

"Guess my invitation to the housewarming party got lost, huh?" wagging his eyebrows mischievously Masaharu plopped himself down onto one of the cushions around the kotatsu startling the cat sleeping nearby and causing her to scurry behind the nearly closed fusuma with a look of disapproval.

"That's not it at all, Masaharu-san," assured Yuuta skin retaining its flushed color. "Things have just been uhhh..

"Had your own private housewarming instead?" Masaharu smirked as the color brightened in the other boy's cheeks. Teasing had always been a favorite pastime of Masaharu's and both Fuji brothers had proven to be ideal victims as it was so easy to get a reaction from either. Their reactions were vastly different and Yuuta never seemed cognizant of his versus Syuusuke who tended to be more a partner putting on his own performance. There was also a line with Yuuta that couldn't be crossed or rather if it was Masaharu would end up with the boy either traumatized or in tears and one very pissed off Yagyuu wanting his hide. But knowing the younger boy for 4 years had given Masaharu a rather firm sense of where the cliff's edge was and it was for this very reason Masaharu had been somewhat reluctant to pay this particular social call. Most of the time he didn't mind being rather beholden to the Fujis his adoptive family in a manner of speaking, but this most recent request was more delicate than usual. As if to better illustrate this point Yuuta's frown of disapproval returned in full force.

"Things have just been difficult, Masaharu-san. I'm sure you know."

"But we're still friends aren't we, Yuuta-kun? And I've been thinking of you." Thankfully the younger boy was naive enough to simply accept the statement and not wonder about the complicated truth behind it. Plus it was always easy to play off his sense of loyalty and rather simplistic trust in others. "Did Yagyuu tell you I asked how you were doing?"

A crease appeared in Yuuta's brow as he carefully lowered himself onto a cushion and placed the Starbucks bag on the table. "No, Hiroshi-san didn't mention he'd seen you recently, Masaharu-san."

Reaching into the bag Masaharu placed the two drinks on the kotatsu before pouring the bag upside down to let a few napkins and assorted sweeteners spill out. "Since it was cold I figured out wouldn't want one of those Frappa-caramel things." It was so easy to lie as he pushed the drink towards his unsuspecting victim. "It's one of those Mocho-Sugar-Christmas drinks, and I even added a little extra sugar for you."

Removing the top and placing it inside the empty bag Yuuta wrinkled his nose slightly before closing his eyes and taking a small sip and then added another sugar packet to the already over-sweetened drink. "I like sweet things," mumbled Yuuta shyly as he took a few sips eyes unconsciously closing in bliss.

"I remember." Masaharu grinned as he pulled off his top a few drops of sweetened coffee-based drink scattering onto the table. He'd doctored his own drink as well in case Yuuta didn't like peppermint and gulped some. It was a slightly risky plan but then that was half the fun. 30 minutes of on-line research and a surreptitious trip to a doctor had assured him that a one time alcohol consumption wouldn't hurt 'Icchan', since Masaharu had no desire to be on the hit list of either Yagyuu or the Fujis. But a little alcohol always made Yuuta a little more pliable and open to suggestion. Not that Masaharu had any expectations he could successfully talk Yuuta into giving up the baby, he just didn't want to ruin his friendship with either Yuuta or Yagyuu over even mentioning it. And it was obvious both already suspected Masaharu might try just such a discussion making this little bit of social lubrication even more necessary. Besides, confession was good for the soul.

Letting Yuuta enjoy his drink and waiting for the alcohol to take effect Masaharu glanced around the room. "It's cozy, nicer than the place you had in Ebisu."

"Thanks, Hiroshi-san and I started looking as soon as he got into Todai."

"I imagine and this place is pretty convenient, you were both going to go there?" Surreptitiously calculating how much of the beverage was still in the cup before just deciding to leap to the topic they'd been skating around since his arrival knowing even when sober Yuuta liked honesty. "You know your sister asked me to talk to you about the baby, she's worried about you."

"I'm not letting her take our baby, Masaharu-san!" Lips pursed angrily one of Yuuta's arms slipped back around his middle.

"I'm not saying you should, Yuuta-kun," assured Masaharu deciding the alcohol needed a little more time. "I'm just saying she's worried. You know your family always wants the best for you." Or what they felt was best for Yuuta which even Masaharu had to admit to himself was not always even close to the same thing.

"My family is weird." Yuuta's expression softened slightly though his arm retained its protective position.

"Yeah, but they do want you to be happy." Sometimes Masaharu wondered if Yuuta knew just how weird his family truly was or for that matter if he realized how weird Yagyuu really was. With his penchant for euphemisms Masaharu still wasn't quite sure and when he'd broached the topic with Yumiko and Syuusuke he'd gotten two different answers. Syuusuke had assured him that Yuuta had absolutely no idea while Yumiko had smiled her secretive smile. Masaharu tended to think probably Yumiko was right but then she was nearly always so. "Syuusuke thinks you should keep your baby."

"Aniki does?" Yuuta blinked eyes open far too wide alerting Masaharu to the fact the younger boy was finally starting to feel the effect of his buzz.

Pausing for a second Masaharu ignored the tinge of guilt he felt at the naked hope in Yuuta's eyes. "Oh yeah, you didn't know that?" Despite what appeared good intentions Masaharu had no doubt that Syuusuke's ardent defense of Yuuta's right to keep his baby was anything but altruistic, the relationship between the brothers was the definition of fucked up. "Shit, Yuuta-kun, you're in high school still."

"Only sort of in high school." Anxiously Yuuta bit on his lower lip. "I've switched to courses via the internet. I got permission from Keigo, we--I thought it might be better." Expression falling Yuuta stared down into his now empty coffee cup.

"That's good, You got to think Atobe understands. So with no one really hearing from you in a few months you can see why everyone is worried sick. It's not like anyone is going to kidnap your kid." Masaharu hoped this was true because it gave him a headache to imagine an enraged, irrational and completely out of control Yagyuu facing off against Yumiko. Being the intelligent woman she was Yumiko hopefully had already realized the futility of taking the kid by force and the battle scenario that would ensue, though the entire Fuji family also seemed cursed with a certain obstinacy and blindness when they truly wanted something.

"I guess... I.. maybe I did overreact ..a bit."

"We're all just trying to help, it's got to be hard, you've been taking all those vitamins and shit."

Yuuta nodded without looking up before his shoulders began to shake and he sniffled loudly. Fuck, thought Masaharu, they'd managed to unexpectedly dive over the precipice. The few times he'd seen Yuuta drunk the boy had mostly been bubbly and Masaharu had counted on that. Scrambling over to the other side of the table Masaharu wrapped his arms awkwardly around the now sobbing boy in an attempt to keep the situation from worsening, not wanting to have to explain to Yagyuu why his boyfriend was in tears. "It's O.K., Yuuta-kun."

"But it's... it's not, Masaharu-san! I... I...just can't.."

Masaharu continued to clumsily pet Yuuta's back trying to ignore the wet spot forming on his chest, unsure what the other boy was getting hysterical over. At that moment he decided Yumiko was going to have to up the pay for this errand, either that or maybe he could sell this shirt to Syuusuke. "Can't what?" Tilting his head Masaharu tried to ignore the soft tickle of Yuuta's hair against his face.

"Hiroshi-san.. I.. It's so unfair to him....but I can't do it.. I just can't let them have our child.. I can't do that.."

"I'm sure Yagyuu is fine." Actually he thought his friend was looking a little stressed out but now was definitely not the time to tell Yuuta that. "If he was unhappy he'd tell you, you know he just adores you."

"But I... I can't even get a job to help!" Yuuta glanced up desperately tear streaks down his cheeks. "And he.. he had to ask his..and his parents are just so upset.. I feel so awful..."

"You could ask your family for help, Yuuta-kun." Rolling his eyes, Masaharu grabbed one of the napkins off the table and offered it to Yuuta. "And you're good with computers and shit. I can see if there is some work at home thing in the Accounting Department, you said you're graduating from Hyoutei still, right?"

Yuuta nodded rubbing at his still dripping eyes before biting his lip and resting against Masaharu's shoulder.

"So see, no reason to cry."

"I just... everything seems so overwhelming.." Yuuta mumbled as he closed his eyes. "Yagyuu-sensei warned.. being pregnant.."

So that was the reason Yuuta had so unexpectedly flown off the handle. Adjusting his arm to curl around Yuuta's sinking form, Masaharu gave the boy a grin. "You're lonely, stuck here in this apartment, with just the cat. Fuck I'd be clawing at the walls."

"Would you.. could you really talk to my family.. I just.. they can't take our baby.." a yawn interrupted the boy's train of thoughts but Masaharu had been counting on that as well. "..do get lonely.. Hiroshi-san..gone so long..but can't.."

Raising an eyebrow Masaharu shifted his position to let Yuuta rest his head on his lap. "I'll come visit again, check on how you're doing." Gently, Masaharu began to pry the crumpled napkin out of Yuuta's hand and placed it on the table before soothingly combing his fingers through the boy's hair. The texture surprisingly more silky than the rest of his family's hair despite the natural waves.

"promise.. promise.. talk..my.."

"Yeah, I'll talk to them." Rolling his eyes and not looking forward to playing messenger again. "You just sleep, Yuuta-kun."

Making a soft sigh Yuuta curled up a little more. After waiting several moments to be sure the boy was asleep, Masaharu grabbed his vacated cushion from across the kotatsu before cautiously resettling Yuuta's head onto it unable to contain his smirk as he adjusted his half hard cock. Quickly he grabbed the two cups from the table and dumped the contents of his own down the sink in the kitchen before rinsing out the sink. Hurrying back to the living room he placed the cups in the bag along with the litter scattered about the table. Checking on Yuuta one last time, Masaharu grabbed a folded knit blanket off the tiny couch and spread it over the sleeping boy. "I'll see myself out, Yuuta-kun."

Silently he left the apartment making sure to return his slippers to the same location he'd taken them from before locking the door behind him with the spare key he'd been given by Yumiko. Heading back to the station Masaharu stuffed the Starbucks bag in one of the recycling bins in front of a combini, first task of the afternoon accomplished. He was nearly to the station when that annoying O-Zone song erupted from his keitai and Masaharu rolled his eyes again. Flipping open the phone, he ignored the glares of the other pedestrians.

"Why Syuu-chan, such a pleasure to-"

"Where the fuck are you I said I-"

Removing the phone from his ear Masaharu held it away from his head, ignoring whatever the hell the other boy was ranting about as he searched in his pockets to see if he had any cigarettes. Finally finding the pack, he took one out and lit it single handedly, before turning his attention back to phone.

"I know what you were doing, Masaharu," pouted the voice on the other end. "I need that pad and those fabric samples."

"On my way to Shinjuku now, Syuusuke." Masaharu took a quick drag from his cigarette. "But I just stopped by Yuuta-kun's." Try as he might Masaharu couldn't keep the smirk out of his voice.

"You went to see Yuuta? How was Yuuta? Is he do--" Removing the phone from his ear Masaharu gave Syuusuke another few minutes to finish his babble about Yuuta while he enjoyed his cigarette, tossing the butt onto the ground in front of him before placing the phone back to his face.

"Yuuta-kun's good. A little lonely but you know how it is pregnant and stuck inside. I promised to visit again."

"Bring me next time, Masaharu, I'll be good."

"I thought you weren't allowed outside, Syuu-chan," taunted Masaharu with mock innocence. "Which is why I need to get your shit for you." It still surprised Masaharu that Syuusuke never just went to visit Yuuta on his own. The few times Syuusuke had tried he'd ended up lost despite his usual decent sense of direction. A part of Masaharu had always wondered if Yagyuu hadn't done something weird just to curtail such visits.

"But this is different, this is to see Yuuta!"

"Maybe if you did me a favor or two.."

"What sort of favors?" Syuusuke answered through obviously gritted teeth.

"First, I need your help convincing your family to promise Yuuta-kun he can keep the kid."

"I've been trying to do that already," answered Syuusuke in obvious annoyance. "Fine. I know a way to do it, but I don't want to hear one word out of you."

Masaharu cocked an eyebrow. Whatever Syuusuke planned to share must be horrifically embarrassing, he couldn't wait to know what it was. "Yeah, sure my lips are sealed. Second, I want a birthday date at Odaiba with my beautiful wife Syuu-chan."

"You know I'm not supposed to go out!" seethed the voice on the other end.

"If you're making an exception for Yuuta-kun..." Blowing a teasing kiss into the phone, Masaharu didn't continue the thought knowing Syuusuke would on his own.

"I hate you."

"Yes, I know. What time should I pick you up for our date next week?"

"5:30. And when are we visiting Yuuta?"

"Two days later, around 1. Yagyuu has classes all day and work. So see you in a few hours?"

"Just don't forgot the pad."

"Yes, darling." With his deal brokered, Masaharu hung up his cell and grinned to himself as he continued back to the stations. Two more tasks accomplished, this was a good day.

Enjoy!
