Amazon update

Well, it's been two weeks with no response. I gave Amazon a deadline of two days ago (and treated yesterday as a little grace period), and they would've received my letter late last week.

As of this morning I cancelled my order for the HTTYD soundtrack; if Amazon isn't willing to ship a copy to me (with payment in kind) because it's at the wrong fulfillment centre, that's their loss; not just of the sale, but of myself as a customer (and I have done quite a few orders over the past few years).

Short summary for those who don't know:
I ordered HTTYD from Amazon.ca, on a 2-week back order, at a higher price than with Amazon.com. The price difference was below the additional cost of shipping, so I figured at the time that the overall cost of a .ca order was cheaper.

Unfortunately, numerous delays, billing errors, and a fluctuating difference in prices led me to reconsider that decision. When Amazon removed the list price from their system, notified me of a new wait time (indefinite a.k.a. forever) and recommended that I cancel the order, I checked; Amazon.com still had the item in stock, and on sale.

My letter was a request to fulfill my order with one of those copies; as it has not been granted, I will no longer be ordering CDs or DVDs from them. Harsh? I lost faith in their system when it split my order charged for each shipment, contradictory to my preferences.

In the meantime, I'll be giving up on buying CDs elsewhere; the inability of a certain record label to provide copies of music I'm willing to buy, while trying to charge to charge more for that strikes me as abusive of their monopoly position; can sellers simply import the cheaper goods without getting into trouble? (It appears not.)
