Some people may know that last year, I picked up a DVD of "The Secret of NIMH" last summer, a 1982 animated movie directed by Don Bluth (and pretty darn good, at that). Really must get round to picking up All Dogs Go To Heaven on dvd, it's so much better than its sequel, which I do have.

Being better than the sequel(s) is kinda expected with Don Bluth's stuff ("sequels" plural to cover the 13 that happened with Land Before Time, and the 3 for American Tail, to say nothing of their TV shows). Much like a lot of movies, even.

And don't get me started on the NIMH sequel...

Maybe because they were more kid-friendly than the original... (random breaking out in song, more anvilicious in delivering their aesops)

The problem was, they deviated noticeably from the original work's style.
