Sunday afternoon involved Danka taking hundreds of photos with my digital camera while snorkeling. Nothing like taking something fun and turning into an obsession. Anyway, we were able to download those pictures at the beach because we had the computer there.
Peter and Tress joined us and hung out at the resturant. Peter's beef was now that "doing things is overrated," and he advocated sitting around. I mined a quote from The Simpsons when Lisa found new friends at a seaside resort town: "Hanging out is cool; it's a lot better than, you know, DOING STUFF." This became our mantra for the next few days. Usually while we were, ummm, doing stuff.
So we went to the Taj Mahal in Koror for the New Years Day dinner. It was spectacular. My first time to eat there. Peter and I both over-ordered, tons of delicious Indian dishes. We even forgot rice and had to order that late. My Lamb soup and Lamb Vindaloo were fantastic. I was excited just looking at the menu. We loaded up with five main dishes and Danka and I took it back to our room; it was our breakfast the next two days.
The conversation drifted around to places we must go and things we must do before we die. Danka's were cautious, mine (Argentina, St. Petersburg & South Africa) were mercifully cut short (pay off debt, achieve world peace, . . .) Tress's were inspirational, and Peter's, well, that would involve doing stuff, now wouldn't it?
Great night; the day also included finalizing plans with Tim and Chris for a boat ride the next day in the Rock Islands . . . .
