After an 11-hour workday, I sat like a vegetable and ate lamb steaks and corn on the cob that Danka cooked for us. I was exhausted and in bed by 9:30.
I have to get up early Friday to follow the football games on the web. The Dallas Cowboys and the Denver Broncos are my two favorite teams, of course. I can't win, but can't lose -- maybe a tie?
We watched "Thunderball," which was obviously the key source for most of Mike Myers' material in the first Austin Powers film. But even more, I'm convinced it was the first movie to use a lot of SCUBA diving footage. The color is all off, and obviously they're in deceptively shallow water, but they filmed an underwater battle scene. I can't find any earlier extensive use of SCUBA in film.
But I could watch Jessica Alba in "Into the Blue" several more times . . . .
The Discovery Channel is showing several shows on the Pacific Theater of WWII.
